Should I Bring My Pet’s Food from Home?

If your dog or cat will be boarding with us, we recommend bringing along their food from home. Keeping your pet on their regular diet can be a comfort to them, but more important, it’s part of their daily routine. Changing their diet suddenly can result in gastrointestinal upset, and we want your pet’s boarding stay to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible. If necessary, we can provide your pet with a bland but palatable diet to minimize stomach upset, but their own food from home is always best.

We also ask that you provide our staff with clear instructions about how to feed your pet, including feeding times.

Cat & Dog Boarding Requirements

Brown Veterinary Hospital takes pride in maintaining a safe, sanitary environment for guests, patients, and of course, our vets and staff. To ensure this remains so, we require that all boarding dogs and cats be current with the following prior to their boarding date:

  • Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines (dogs)
  • Rabies and FVRCP vaccines (cats)
  • Taking monthly parasite preventatives
